STILLWATER, Minn. - Lois M. Leonard passed away peacefully Monday, January 21, 2008 in Stillwater, Minn. Mrs. Leonard, age 84, was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John D. (Colonel, U.S. Army Retired). They had made Augusta their permanent home (over 30 years) after his retirement from Ft. Gordon. She is survived by her son John Michael Leonard and his wife Coni of Stillwater; and her daughter, Patricia Leonard Harger and her husband Tom of Burke, Va. Grandchildren include Lisa Harger, Washington, D.C., Amy Buchanan (Stephen), South Riding, Va., Jason Leonard (Anjali), St. Paul, Minn., Sarah Leonard and John Michael Leonard, II, both of Stillwater, Minn.; and 4 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Leonard was an R.N. and loved pediatric nursing. She also loved and excelled at her role as an Army officer's wife. After her husband's death, coupled with her own failing health, Mrs. Leonard relocated in 2005 to the Stillwater area to be close to her son and his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday January 30, 2008 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 811 Telfair Street, Augusta, Ga. with Reverend Alan J. McDonald Celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service in the St. Francis Hall from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
