SPRINGFIELD, Ga. - Lucille Vereen Downing, 87 died Friday, January 25, 2008 at Kentwood Nursing Home. Mrs. Downing was preceded in death by her husband, Guion F. Downing, all her brothers and sisters, and her granddaughter. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Joe Crim of Savannah, and Janice and Tony Price of Augusta; her son and daughter-in-law, Guion and Mary Downing of Springfield; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 27 at the funeral home. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday, January 28 at Newington Baptist Church. Interment: Newington Cemetery.
