AIKEN, S.C. - Memorial services for Mr. Jan L. Holman will be held Monday, January 28, 2008 at 11am at the Chapel of George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken, with Rev. Dr. George Howle officiating. South Carolina Cremation & Burial Society, Graniteville, is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. John's United Methodist Church, 104 Newberry St, NW, Aiken, SC, 29801 or Regency Hospice, 105 Summerwood Way, Aiken, SC, 29803. Mr. Holman, 71, of Aiken, died January 25, 2008 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center. Born in Topeka, KS on February 2, 1936, he was the son of Nellie Camilia Horner Holman and the late Lyle E. Holman. He moved to Aiken in 2001 from Durham, NC. He married Sandra on August 9, 1959 and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1962, with a degree in Liberal Arts. He retired after seventeen years as an associate executive director of Instrumentation Systems and Automation Society (I.S.A). In honor of Mr. Holman a Proclamation was made at his retirement by the Mayor of Houston, TX, for bringing large conventions to the city. His greatest joy was his family and golf. In addition to his mother and her friend, Dave Fletcher, Tomball, TX, he is survived by his wife of forty eight years, Sandra Sutton Holman, sons, Christopher (Michelle) Holman, Keller, TX, Courtney (Patricia) Holman, Anderson, SC, sister, Susan Sheridan, Conway, NC, grandsons, Matthew Holman, Mitchell Holman, Luke Holman.
