Comments from our readers:

TO DR. WAYNE FRAZIER, the new principal at Tubman Middle School: When you get Tubman back on track, please come to East Augusta Middle School where they fight every day .

A BIG RAVE TO THE person who picked up my gloves that I unknowingly dropped in the Kmart parking lot Jan. 3. This person went out of their way to stick them under my windshield wipers. I found them when I came out. Thank you so much!

I HAVE A RAVE FOR The Augusta Chronicle . It's a good paper. I've been having it for years, and I would sure love to have the horoscope back in. I am a true believer of horoscopes, and I sure do miss it out of The Chronicle .

I JUST WANTED TO let the people know that there are some wonderful people still in this world. After shopping at Wal-Mart in Thomson, as I was in my checkout line I realized that I didn't have my checkbook. A young lady two people behind me said, "May I pay your bill?" I could hardly believe it. I did not accept it, but whoever you are, I sure do thank you.

IN REGARD TO THE situation at Tubman: Where are the parents of these children that are causing so much disturbance? If you told the parents the only way their children could come to school is if they came with them, you would see a whole different student body.

A BIG RAVE FOR Opus in the comics. Free speech is one of the freedoms for which we fight!

I JUST LEFT the Augusta Mall and there was much less trash there than I thought would be. It might actually turn around yet.

I'M A SUBSCRIBER of The Chronicle, and I had problems with my delivery, and I spoke with Debra in that department. She told me she would get on it immediately, and she did. Hooray for Debra!

THIS IS A RANT and rave. A rave for the work being done on the ramps at Wildwood. It's nice to put the new ramps in up there. A rant is for the ramps around the lake that the people paid taxes to use but aren't able to. It would be nice if they would repair them, too.

I WANT TO THANK THE lady at Publix for helping me to the car with the groceries. It was very nice because I am crippled and my wife is, too. And we thank Publix for their service.

I AGREE WITH THE PERSON who wrote in the letters to the editor that public housing should be a temporary solution. There should be a limit. No more than a year. If you can't find a job in a year, you're not looking.

SPEAKING TO YOU from Harlem, Ga. I am a senior citizen and I am all for Obama! And I don't like what Clinton has said!

I WAS JUST WATCHING the Channel 12 news during an important newscast and a beep started coming on the thing like it was some kind of weather warning or something, and they muted out the sound of the presidential candidates for ... the lottery. Nobody cares about the lottery except the idiots that play it. There is no reason to interrupt the newscast.
