- Winyah Home Health has been named to the 2007 Home Care Elite by Outcomes Concepts Systems, the leading provider of healthcare informatics and Decision Health, publisher of Home Health Line, for being among the top 25 percent of home health care providers in quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance.
- Dr. Sunita Dodani , the assistant dean for research in the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing, has been selected as a corresponding member of the Cardiovascular Diseases Expert Group for the World Health Organization's Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries and Risk Factors Study. The three-year study will produce a new set of estimates of the causes of mortality and disability to update and enhance the original Global Burden of Disease study from 1996.
- Scott J. Klosinski , a partner in the Klosinski Overstreet LLP law firm, was named the 2007 Columbia County Coach of the Year by the Columbia County Recreation Department.
- Robert A. Mullins, of Mullins Law Firm PC, has received recognition from Continental Who's Who for achievements in leadership in the legal profession.
- Larry Ramsey , a sales associates for Century 21 Larry Miller Realty, recently earned the Century 21 Global Referral Network's specialist professional designation. The designation qualifies him to provide customers and clients with specialized referral services throughout the worldwide Century 21 system.
- Dr. Barry Hammond , assistant professor of general dentistry at the MCG School of Dentistry, and Dr. Andrew Kious , assistant professor of oral rehabilitation, are among 36 new and prospective dental educators to complete the American Dental Education Association/Academy for Academic Leadership Institute for Teaching and Learning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. The institute is designed to enhance the effectiveness of dental educators.
- Dr. Sally S. Atherton , the chairwoman of the MCG Department of Cellular Biology and Anatomy, has been named a Regents Professor by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents for achievements as a faculty member. Dr. Atherton joined MCG in 2000 and lectures in gross anatomy and herpesvirus infections of the eye and scientific grant writing. She also directs the graduate student ethics course Responsible Conduct of Research.
- Gwen Fulcher Young has been re-elected the chairwoman of the Georgia Real Estate Commission.
- Mirna Ramirez has been named the 2007 Employee of the Year at the Augusta West Holiday Inn.
