The theme for this year's event is A Kingian Tradition: Excellence in Leadership and Loyalty in Service through Nonviolence, said the Rev. Larry Fryer, an organizer for the event.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Larry Wayne Howard, the senior pastor of Greater Friendship Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio.
He will speak on the fourth of the six principles of nonviolence developed by Dr. King in his book Stride Toward Freedom, which states: "Accept suffering without retaliation for the sake of the cause to achieve a goal."
Comments from several guests, including Mayor Deke Copenhaver, county commissioners, area ministers and a representative from Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign are expected.
The mayor will make a special announcement, the Rev. Fryer said.
Organizers hope to inspire people to come together to work toward common goals, he said.
"Our goal is to work toward unity and to assist and support other human needs organizations," he said.
There will be a musical presentation at 11 a.m.
