AUGUSTA, Ga. - Claude Edward "Buddy" Peacon, Sr., beloved brother of Patt (Murray) LaChance, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2008. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Poteet Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the H.I.S. Community Church with Pastor Ken Young officiating. Committal services will follow at Westview Cemetery. Buddy was a graduate of Richmond Academy High School. Prior to his retirement, he was a dispatcher/supervisor for 30 years at Brown Transport and worked for Empire Casket Company. Buddy was highly respected by his family and friends, he was a man of his word, an asset to his community, a man of great integrity and honesty. He will be greatly missed. Buddy is survived by his children, whom he loved dearly, Alyson Peacon Way, Kathy Peacon Patton, Claude E. Peacon, Jr. and Suzanne Peacon Boyd; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; his loving and devoted sister, Patt (Murray) LaChance; nieces and nephews, Chris Murray, Kim Campbell Mimmie, Valerie Skeens, Pam Teston, and Sandy Gibson; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; cousins, Stanley Knox and Michael Knox. Pallbearers are Chris Murray, Gene Johnikin, Gary Skeens, Adam Clyburn Sr., Jeff Teston, Mike Estilette, Tommy Knowles, and David Casto. The Poteet Funeral Homes South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, Ga. 30906, 706-798-8886, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
