STAPLETON, Ga. - Mrs. Charlene Newsome Bridges, 45, wife of Don Bridges, of Harvey St., Stapleton, Ga., entered into rest on Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Friday, January 18, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with the Reverend Matthew Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Steadman Cemetery. Mrs. Bridges, a lifelong resident of the Augusta area, was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Other survivors include her mother, Lee Ellen Carroll of Augusta; father and step-mother, Walter Frank and Edna Newsome; sons, James Randy Cook, Jr. of Augusta, Charles Bridges, II of Wrens, William T. Bridges of Appling; daughters, Candie Davis of Augusta and Christie Tarr of Wrens; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodney and Garland Newsome, Sr. of Hephzibah, Emmett and Katy Rhodes, Jr. of Evans, Steve and Mychele Rhodes of Thomson, Larry Joe and Marcie Newsome of Lyons, Ga.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
