Experienced McCain earns trust

  • Follow Letters

Our next president needs the capabilities to solve the foreign and domestic challenges facing our country. Sen. John McCain is the person for the job.

Through his service in the U.S. Navy and in Congress, since 1982, he has earned the respect of all Americans. First and foremost, I support McCain because he is a man I respect and trust. Perhaps I am a cynic, but I have not found many elected officials whom I trust. Fortunately, I could not be more confident in John McCain. He is always forthright, and never hesitates to speak his mind. He never beats around the bush or dodges questions; his answers are always straightforward. Unfortunately, these qualities alone separate him from most of the candidates running for president.

Furthermore, I support almost all of his positions. When our opinions do diverge, I know his position comes from conviction -- not from any pandering to special-interest groups. McCain is ready to be our next commander-in-chief. When he makes decisions about American troops, he has past and present connections to the men who fill the boots on the ground (one of his sons is an enlisted Marine, and another is at the Naval Academy).

Moreover, he has comprehensive plans for the economy, health care, and immigration. His earned respect from the American public will allow him to unify the country so we can begin to solve the numerous problems facing our country.

I urge you to look at John McCain's record. I imagine you will see what so many others have: that his is ready to be our next president.

Alaexander Abate, Martinez

McCain is to be respected for

McCain is to be respected for his military service and his sacrifice. He has a right to participate in the ploitical process of our country. But, Politically he is DemoSocialist in sheep clothing. Look at his voting record. Don't read his lips. Every veteran (Kerry) is not fit to lead America.

Who is the Trilatteral

Who is the Trilatteral Commission Candidate? The Arab War is adiversion from the dangers we face at home. Just as "Monica" was diversion from the real issues of the Clinton Era. U S Citizens have lost more freedoms in the last sixteen years than can be imagined.

A well composed theme. At least some youth are paying attention in class and haven't been left behind.

Abate says McCain has a comprehensive plan for immigration. Right. That plan is amnesty and open borders. No thanks.
