BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Hisako Sakai Byrne, age 79, died Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Medical Center. The Osaka, Japan native was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, a Seamstress and a housewife. She was the daughter of the late Fukuzo and Tatsuko Fukuoka Sakai and the widow of Valery Byrne. Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a reception to follow from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the home of Dr. Michael Byrne, 1531 Cabell Dr., Bowling Green. Survivors include three sons, Dr. Michael Byrne and his wife Katharyn of Bowling Green, Richard Byrne and his wife Carol of Boston, Mass. and Thomas Byrne and his wife Mary of Cincinnati, Ohio; one daughter, Helen Barker and her husband Bill of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Yoshio Sakai of Toyoko, Japan; ten grandchildren, Valerie Cantu and her husband Raul, Curtis Rodgers and his wife Erin, Emily, Anna, Rachel, Matthew, David, Jennifer, Rebecca and Sarah Byrne; two great-grandchildren, Emily Daniels and Katherine Cantu.
