BEAUFORT, S.C. - Buddy Curry, 62, Beaufort, SC, fell asleep December 18, 2007 following an extended illness and is awaiting the return of Jesus Christ. Buddy was born November 20, 1945 in Wilmington, NC to Rufus H. and Vivian (Cherry) Curry, Jr. His mother, Vivian Chamberlain, survives. He married Deborah Gardner March 25, 1975 in Augusta, GA, who survives and will reside in Evans, GA. Survivors include 4 children; Mary (Shane) Kellams of Evans, GA, Aimee (Brad Mentzer) Curry, Paul and David Curry all of Beaufort; two grandchildren, Christina and Bryce Kellams; his brother, Larry (Sandra) Curry and sister, Nancy Cook, of Raleigh, NC; his brother, Warren Lee Curry, preceded him. He grew up attending the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. In 1974 he took the Power for Abundant Living class offered by The Way International in Augusta, GA, with Deborah. They were graduates of the Way Corps Family 5, served as fellowship coordinators for 21 years, and owned a construction business. Recently he and Larry worked in Slidell, LA helping with Katrina construction. On Saturday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. a memorial service will be held at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Rd., Martinez, GA followed by a reception at the fellowship hall of the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church on Belair Rd, Evans at noon.
