MILLEN, Ga. - Floy Burke Saxon, 98, widow of her husband of sixty-three years, Joseph B. Saxon, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Mrs. Saxon was born in Screven County August 12, 1909, a homemaker and was the oldest living member of the Dry Branch Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Dry Branch Baptist Church with Revs. Ray Freeman and Mike Dann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include her five daughters, Doris Saxon (Paul) Rhodes of Millen, Jackie Saxon (Earl) Heath of Aiken, S.C., Velma Saxon (Willard) Joyner of Lincolnton, Thelma Saxon (Phil) Jeselnik Hunt of Dunlap, Tenn., and Faye Saxon (Jerry) Skinner of Augusta; two nephews and a niece she called her children, Jack Burke, Earl Burke, and Louise Smart; nineteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, and twenty six great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends at the home of Lynn J. Bowers, 506 Morningside Cir., Millen.
