CALORIE-REDUCING TIPS FOR DRINKING

- Alternate alcoholic drinks with low-calorie non-alcoholic drinks and water.

- Use low-calorie or diet mixers.

- Make your wine into a spritzer -- it has fewer calories.

- Plan your alcohol into your daily calorie quota so you can enjoy a glass or two.

- Don't be tempted to skip meals to allow for drinks, because alcohol won't satisfy your hunger.

- Drink slowly -- or less. Dilute beverages with ice or juice.
