EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Mrs. Edna Catherine Lavender Black, 78, of Edgefield, died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab. Private Services will be held at a later date. Mrs. Black was a native of Marion, Ill. and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a Retired Bank Teller and a Homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Janice Black and Melanie Black; three sons, George Black, III, James Black, and William Black; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Edgefield County Hospital, P.O. Box 590, Edgefield, S.C. 29824. Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
