Prep statistics are due by Wednesday
Individual player statistics are due this Wednesday at 4 p.m., no exceptions.
The Augusta Chronicle will publish a listing of area leaders in the following categories: scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, 3-point percentage and blocked shots.
Nominations for area player of the week for both boys and girls sports will be due at this time.

- In Bathurst, New Brunswick, a van carrying a Canadian high school boys' basketball team collided with a truck Saturday, killing seven students on their way home from a game and the wife of the driver.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sgt. Derek Strong said the seven players were pronounced dead at the crash site after their van crossed the center line and hit the tractor-trailer shortly after midnight.
The four survivors are expected to recover from their injuries.
Dogwood 3-year-old second in Lecomte
In New Orleans, Z Fortune asserted himself as a legitimate contender for the Triple Crown races at the Fair Grounds, beating Dogwood Stable's Blackberry Road by 23/4 lengths in the Grade III Lecomte Stakes for 3-year-olds.
Z Fortune, who was ridden by Shaun Bridgemohan, won the mile race in 1:37.79 and is unbeaten in three lifetime starts. The next race in the Fair Grounds Kentucky Derby prep series is the Risen Star on Feb. 9.
Blackberry Road, owned by the Aiken stable, rallied to finish second under Calvin Borel .
Ellis gets Comeback Player of Year honor
Greg Ellis made a major impact for the Dallas Cowboys at outside linebacker and was voted The Associated Press 2007 NFL Comeback Player of the Year.
Ellis, who had 121/2 sacks, drew 12 votes from a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the league. New England wide receiver Randy Moss was chosen on 10 ballots.
- The father of Arkansas star Darren McFadden denied a report that he has sent paperwork to the NFL so his son can enter the upcoming draft.
"I hate to be saying anything because all these false stories and everything are floating around," Graylon McFadden told The Associated Press . "But no I didn't -- and that's all I've got to say."
University spokesman Kevin Trainor said he didn't anticipate an announcement on Darren McFadden before Monday.
Roddick takes third Kooyong title in row
In Melbourne, Australia, Andy Roddick won his third consecutive Kooyong Classic title, defeating Marcos Baghdatis 7-5, 6-3.
- In Auckland, New Zealand, Philipp Kohlschreiber won his second ATP Tour singles title, beating Juan Carlos Ferrero 7-6 (4), 7-5 in the Heineken Open.
Attorney seeking to depose Vick in suit
In Richmond, Va., a teenager who claims in a lawsuit that she had an almost two-year sexual relationship with former Miami Dolphins player Marcus Vick is hoping Vick's imprisoned brother, Michael Vick , will corroborate her claims.
In papers filed in Carroll County Circuit Court this week, the 18-year-old woman asked a judge to compel the former Atlanta quarterback to give a sworn statement.
The woman, who was 17 when she filed the lawsuit against Marcus Vick last year, claims in the suit that she was a 15-year-old honor student at Christiansburg High School when she first had sex with a then-19-year-old Marcus Vick in January 2004 while he was a quarterback at Virginia Tech.
Marcus Vick has denied a relationship with the woman.
