STAPLETON, Ga. - Mr. Travis Fay Rooks, 72, the beloved husband of 50 years to June Prescott Rooks, and the son of the late Aaron Jerimiah Rooks and the late Mattie Lou Williams Rooks, entered into rest Saturday, January 12, 2008. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wayne Racz, Rev. Sam Collins and Chaplain Pauline Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Stapleton Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends Sunday, January 13, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Rooks was a retired supervisor at Stapleton Garment Co., a member of the Stapleton United Methodist Church and served in the National Guard. Mr. Rooks was a loving husband, father and dedicated grandfather. Survivors include his wife, June; son, Travis E. Rooks; a daughter, Faye R. Jones and her husband, Bill; two sisters, Sue Purvis, her husband, Weldon and Nelda Williams, her husband, Jimmy, a granddaughter, Kristy Jones and a sister-in-law, Doris Rooks. Mr. Rooks is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Rooks. Pallbearers will be his nephews: Ray Rooks, Tim Williams, Doug Williams, Daniel Bazemore, Jeff Bazemore and Clay Prescott.
