6 tourists injured in horse-carriage crash
CHARLESTON --- A carriage hauling more than a dozen tourists through the historic section of this city crashed after a horse pulling it slipped its bridle and ran, police said.
Six of the 13 tourists thrown to the ground were treated for minor injuries after the accident Wednesday, according to a police report.
The carriage driver told police a bridle came loose and the horse took off for about a block along Charleston's waterfront battery park.
The carriage hit a curb and launched several feet into the air. The right rear wheel broke and the carriage overturned, according to a police report.
No charges were filed.
