AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, January 7, 2008, Dr. David L. Dross, 77, husband of the late Ann K. McCarthy Dross. Dr. Dross was a native of St. Laurence, Pa., lived in Akron, Ohio and resided in Augusta for the past 54 years. He was a graduate of Emory School of Dentistry and a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army. Dr. Dross was a member of the American Dental Association, President of the Dental Disaster Society and an Instructor at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. He was a member of St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church. He had his private Dental Practice for over 30 years. Family members include his daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Bill Jackson of Evans, Kate and Randy Bellman of Panama City, Fla., Ann Marie Dross of Augusta; sons and daughter-in- law, David F. Dross of Augusta, Gregory and Tina Dross of Augusta; grandchildren, Susanne Mims Mathis, Patrick Mims, Nicholas Dross, Michele Dross, Patrick Dross, Annie Jackson, Keenan Smith, Amy Chokshi, Nathaniel Teston, Kristi Brown; great-grandson, Carter Mathis; great-granddaughters, Alexis Brown, Kaylee Brown; and brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Joanne Dross. Dr. Dross was preceded in death by his parents, Leo F. Dross and Agnes Kutruff Dross; and sister, Elizabeth O'Neall. The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 12:00 noon at St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald Regan, celebrant. Pallbearers will be Stephen Douglas, Nathaniel Teston, Wish Markwalter, Patrick Dross, Patrick Mims and Nick Dross. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Joseph Dromsky and Staff. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, Ga. 30904. The Vigil for the Deceased will be held Wednesday evening at 6:30 at St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church and the family will receive friends after the Vigil Service at the church.
