AUGUSTA, Ga. - Jack Liebowitz, 73, beloved husband of Terry Levy Liebowitz, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008 at University Hospital. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Rabbi David Sirull officiating. Additional survivors include one son, Steven Liebowitz, Evans, Georgia; two daughters and sons- in-law, Laura and Dr. George Fuhrman, Atlanta, Georgia, Susan and Michael La Kier, Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Sandee Schreiber, Brunswick, Georgia; and five grandchildren, Sarah, Melissa and Allison Fuhrman, Ben and Rachel La Kier. Mr. Liebowitz graduated from University of Georgia with degrees in Accounting and Pharmacy. He was employed by the Medical College of Georgia. He was previously employed at University Hospital for 34 years and retired as Director of Pharmacy. He was a member of The Augusta Pharmaceutical Association, Georgia Society of Hospital Pharmacists, American Pharmaceutical Association and Adas Yeshurun Synagogue. Pallbearers will be Dr. George Fuhrman, Michael La Kier, Dr. Ben Levy, Dr. Bobby Levy, Dr. Harvey Levy, Dr. Jason Levy, Dr. Louis Levy and Saul Levy. Honorary pallbearer will be Ike Henderson.
