Don't worry AC, I'm sure ya'll will create enough hate to go from Hillary to Obama. It is what you do best.
Republicans always wanted to see the Hillary Clinton campaign unravel.
They may not have wanted it to happen this soon, though.
Astoundingly, the "inevitable" Democratic presidential nominee could be fighting for her campaign's survival in today's New Hampshire primary, after taking a longtime lead into Iowa last Thursday and leaving with a surprising third, and suddenly sinking to a double-digit deficit in the polls this week in the Granite State.
Within just a few days - days! - she went from presumptive nominee in most eyes to being on life support in other eyes.
Iowa winner Barack Obama has created so much excitement that one observer said he had "liberated" Democratic voters from having to vote for Clinton. And in a particularly telling image from Iowa, seeing Mrs. Clinton flanked by her aging husband and others from his administration made more than one commentator compare the 1990s-era sight to a scene in a wax museum.
The Clinton crowd seemed to be saying, "Hey, let's do the '90s again!" But after Iowa, there may be no going back.
It's clear that New Hampshire voters may vote for change, too. And South Carolina voters may not be far behind on Jan. 26.
Clinton's lack of appeal would be a huge issue in the general campaign - but it has already become a central issue in the primary: She was even asked about her lack of likability at the New Hampshire debate. And while she handled the question with aplomb, that seems to have done her little good in the polls.
Republicans should be careful not to wet their lips too much. If Hillary Clinton goes down in flames, a phoenix may rise from her ashes in the form of a much more formidable Barack Obama.
It's still very early. But in the few days between Iowa and New Hampshire, Clinton advisers were undoubtedly grasping for angles, desperately seeking traction against the new front-runner.
Unless they find it soon, only the meteoric rise of Barack Obama will be more historic than the titanic sinking of Hillary Clinton.
Don't worry AC, I'm sure ya'll will create enough hate to go from Hillary to Obama. It is what you do best.
Hillary has a powerful machine behind her. She's already replaced her handlers and is remaking herself into "a better candidate." There'll be a phoenix, but it'll be Hillary. This campaign is still young and Obama's surge is not unsurmountable. The unscripted interviews, or lack there of, will continue to be Hillary's greatest obstacle. It's hard to trick even shivas when she's put into a position of having to act honest.
It's over for Hillary. Obama wins NH. SC and FL polls are already showing Obama will win those states with black voters going heavily for him. The only question left is who will be the Republican nominee.
Are we really being taken over by foreign forces without firing a single shot? Ron Paul supporters rant about us losing our constitutional rights. Could it be that the problem is not loss of our constitutional rights but the loss of our constitution itself? Just wondering after hearing a discussion of this on TV.
What country was it that once said they would take the U.S. without firing a single shot. Has the time come?
If the democrates gain control of this country it will signal the beginning of the end for a nation that has seen the decrease of morality to the increase of "a whatever feels good" nation. The world already started years ago to see the United States as some big mouth who never backs it word. This will become fact if the democrates have their way. Out of all the junk being spewed from canidates mouths the only one who has an ounce of common sense sprinkled with morality that only comes from God would be Senator Thompson. That is just that! Now lets all smile:)
Somebody please tell Hillary there is no crying in the hardball world of politics. After her meltdown yesterday, who in their right mind could vote for her? If she can't take defeat in Iowa, how is she going to take defeat when Congress fails to pass her legislation? Or imagine this, how can she order troops to war to defend our country against those who would destroy us? I can picture it now. "I'm ordering troop deployment into (you fill in the blank of which country)" As she appears on her nationwide address, tears flow down her face ruining her mascara. We need a cool hand at the helm not some sobbing Hillary who pouts and cries when she loses the Iowa caucus. She is a rich spoiled brat. After she loses today, you will find her in the corner pouting and sucking her thumb. Presidential timber, she is not.
Christian, you comment is hard to fathom in light of the fact that this nation was led by Republicans in the White House and Congress for the past six years. If there has been a decrease in morality, perhaps those who were leading this country should have done something about it when they had an opportunity. Assuming there has been a decrease in morality, the fact they did not do anything about suggests they were either complicit or actively partaking in those actions you complain about. Or perhaps I misinterpreted your post: Do you mean to suggest that Republicans started us down the road to perdition and the Democrats will take us the rest of the way? And only Fred Thompson can save us from ourselves? That kind of paternalism is un-Republican.
Yea, I'm with you Buick. The only way to restore morality is for a great revival in this country that will begin with the churches. But with TV evangelists fleecing the flock, priests engaged in immoral acts, pedophiles behind the pulpit, preachers more concerned with social issues than salvation issues, and influential preachers and denominations more concerned about politics than the condition of a person's soul, the moral slide will continue. Those of us who go to church have no one to blame for this slide but ourselves. As the church goes, so goes the nation. Politics can't save us. The church is fiddling while Rome burns.
NotyourDad, did you forget the strangle hold the left had on congress the first two years of the Bush administration? And the last two years of the administration? I don't think that leaves 6 years.
Get ready for the end of this great nation christian314. It's going to happen because the Democrats are going to take control. I suggest you and the rest of your Christian nutball freak voting friends get out now before you are forced to convert to Islam. Form your new country and call Jesus Land. Allah Akbar!
Patriciathomas, the Republican Party had majorities in both the US Senate and Congress starting in 1994 when Newt Gingrich engineered the Contract On America. The "left" certainly had no strangle hold on Congress the first two years of the Bush administration. Bush had a Republican majority in both houses until January, 2007 and never vetoed a single bill until this year. That's 6 years of complete Republican rule which has left this country swimming in a sea of red ink, 2 failed wars, immigration meltdown, and shredding of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the responsibility can be laid directly at the Republican Party's door.
accuracy, thursday, may 23, 2002, Jumping Jim Jeffords sold out his constituency for a fine retirement plan and gave control of the senate to the left. For two years the congress was handcuffed. Strange display name.
What's this crack about "aging husband?" We're all "aging" and he is younger by ten years than McCain.
shivas, you are so optimistic. you can brighten a room better than yellow paint and cookies.
froggy out.
sorry About my language. whatever i said im sorry, ok?
How about we stay on point. Repubs...you have a chance against the "Hilda-beast". You have NO CHANCE against BHO or Johnny Boy. It's nice of the ACES to recognize and print the truth.
Barack Obama will be a formidable opponent for any of the Repubs, but let's not forget the dirty tricks the right plays. Before the election gets warm they will have half the nation believing Obama and Osama are one in the same. They will convince the stupid populace that Obama is a radical Muslim terrorist from some kind of sleeper cell waiting for the chance to bring down this nation. Mark my word folks...the Right's Political Noise machine hasn't even gotten warmed up yet. And here in the South..you really think the racist hicks will ever elect a black man? Yea, about as likely as them electing a woman. How backwards we are here in the 21st Century. I hope Obama wins, but I mostly hope he survives this election.
Shivas, the AC doesn't have to spew hate for Hitlery. She and hubby BJ do a fine job on their own.
gagirl, I do believe that it has been Hitlery's campaign that has made a point of Obama's full name, not the Repubs.
Unemployment at 5%, the Dow down 238.42 edging closer to 11,000, the housing crisis, record deficits and debt, a never ending war with close to 4000 American casualties, over 41 million Americans with no health care, sky high drug and insurance costs, the ever weakening dollar and No child Left Behind failing miserably...yea, we need 4 more years of this wonderful republican leadership!
No but you're not wearing robes and hiding your face yet.All these Americans just started having no healthcare? The dow was under 10,000, Right.Sky high drug cost due to the Hated Drug Companies funding research and , Gasp! Making a profit. The problem with education is mostly with the PARENTS! No amount of money or legislation is gonna fix that. How about the largest amount of money sent to Africa to fight aids? The deficits suck, but we are in the middle of a war for survival. We lost over half that amount of people in one day on 9/11.I don't agree with a lot of G.B.'s programs and stands but at least he tried to do some thing besides bang the White House Interns and let Osama walk free.
Who do you trust to fight the war against Islamic terrorists?
A guy with no foreign policy experience who spent 10 years of his early life in a muslim Madrassa??
Osama doesn't stand a chance for election on a national stage. Democrats like him over Hillary, but he is unelectable. A candidate must carry the South to win, and there is no way Osama is going to carry the South. In fact, once they leave South Carolina after their primary, they will close down shop because SC is solid Republican. The best thing I like about Osama is that he will get rid of the Clinton's once and for all. When Osama gets through with her, she will go the way of Kerry, Dukakis, and Gore.
Good day today...Ga. Dawgs #2 in the nation and Hillary gone.
Not true GreenJacket...you do NOT have to carry the south and win. Our strategy is not predicated on getting close-minded, borderline racist, anti-intellectual southern voters to vote for Obama. You calling him Osama is the beginning of showing your true colors also. It is not funny...Speaking of Osama, how has your boy GDud done on finding him...more videos out that Britney's crazy behind...You'll only have a chance if the nominee is Hillary.
Dr I understood that there has never been a president elected who didn't carry the South. Am I wrong?
baroness, hilda-beast has been around along time. I think I first heard it from Neal Boortz. I'm certain her husband would have considered calling her that, maybe after she threw the lamp at him in the White House and probably lots of times before that. They had a "spat" on the steps before his first inauguration. Don't you know that political agreements are more sacred and important than marriage vows?
DrGunby, Teddy Kennedy started the Osama Obama routine in one of his drunken speeches. I know that doesn't narrow it down too much, but it was about 2.5 years ago. I don't recall the entire speech, but the point being made had to do with Obama's contribution to the Dem convention. He referred to him as Osama Osama Obama. Kennedy is an Obama supporter....sometimes.
You are so right pt. Kennedy screwed up Obama's name just as he had done the same with Hubert Horatio Hornblower, he meant Humphrey, at the Democratic Convention in 1980, way before so many but not all of his brain cells had been killed by his family's products.
If Ted drinks like we have been led to believe, I have calculated - conservatively - my estimate that Ted has possibly knocked down around 500-800 gallons of alcohol (not product containing) from Chappaquidick to the present: 6oz per day of the pure stuff times 365 days per year times around 35 years, at 128 oz per gallon. At 80 proof, that would be 1200-2000 gallons of booze. And he's still trying to make laws for us!
