WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Lindsey P. Jones, age 99, of Waynesboro, Ga., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the Burke Medical Center. Born September 20, 1908 in Burke County, Ga., Mr. Jones served as an Army Officer in WWII. He married his first wife, Doris Alexander, in 1941. After the war, they lived in Los Angeles, Calif., where he retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Jones was a widower when he courted and married Theodoshia Bessent in September 1985. They resided in Los Angeles until he and Theodoshia returned to live in Waynesboro, Ga. prior to her death in October 2004. Mr. Jones is survived by a host of loving relatives and devoted friends. The Homegoing Service will be held at the Portersville Missionary Baptist Church, 3452 Middleground Road, Waynesboro, on Saturday, January 5th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Willie James Evans, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at the Portersville Church Cemetery immediately following the service.
