Excellent local restaurant and local always deserves our support over corporate as long as they are good.
Kudos to LaTina Emerson, to The Augusta Chronicle and especially to Chuck and Gail Baldwin for the marvelous article in "Your Business" on Dec. 31 ("Restaurateur has recipe for success").
As someone who has enjoyed many a meal at the French Market Grille (Surrey and West), I also commend the Baldwins for the food, service and management of their marvelous restaurants. Congratulations, and cook on!

Chuck and Gail are wonderful assets to our community. Chuck is one man with true integrity.
The Baldwins are fantastic people and their restaurant is tremendous. Reminds me of the three years I spent in New Orleans back in the 70's working on my graduate degree. What a town of great food brought right here to us in Augusta! And don't forget their son, Matt, has a wonderful establishment on Columbia Rd. near Patriot's Park. He works hard and is a fine young man, UGA educated!!! Like his parents, he has a similar menu. We enjoy patronizing him as well. Encourage you all to do the same. And talking about the men's room - always enjoyed the pics of the ladies in there showing off their teasing Mardis Gras outfits. New Orleans for sure all the way!
I frequentied the French Market Grill for years starting when they opened. However, the food has gotten not only inconsistant in quality, but too pricy for what you get with poor service. The drinks (bar drinks) are way too expensive when you consider they use the cheapest bar booze you can buy. Seems Chuck is more interested in playing golkd than overseeing his restaurant as he did when he opened and the place was the best in town to hang out at. leaving that to Gail.
