Keeping resolutions

New Years has come around again and it's time to make resolutions. Many teens list getting more exercise as a priority, but often find it hard to stick to an exercise plan. Beth Custer, a fitness specialist at the YMCA Marshall Branch, provided some tips for sticking with an exercise plan:

- Take it easy at first. Go at your own pace. Push yourself, but don't push yourself over the limit.

- Cardiovascular exercises help strengthen your muscles. Weight-bearing exercises also help with the muscles and the bones.

- Even if it's cold and rainy, you can still get a workout. Good exercises for a rainy day are push-ups, sit-ups, lunges and squats.
