AUGUSTA, Ga. - Sarah Murphy Hinnant, age 88, wife of the late Carl L. Hinnant, entered into rest, Saturday, December 29, 2007. Mrs. Hinnant was a native and life long resident of Augusta, GA. She was deeply devoted to her faith and was proud of her Irish Heritage. Mrs. Hinnant passed her strong family heritage and values on to her children and grandchildren. She was Roman Catholic and a member of St. Ignatius of Antioch Melkite Church. She is survived by her daughter: Carlan Hinnant of Waldorf, MD, sons: John Hinnant (Loretta) of Augusta, GA; Dan Hinnant of Stem, NC, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sister: Annie M. Terpak of Augusta, GA. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Fr. Miguel Grave de Peralta officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the St. Ignatius Antioch Melkite Church, 1003 Merry Street, Augusta, GA 30904. Pallbearers will be Chris Lang, Matthew Hinnant, John M. Hinnant, Jr., Michael Sims, Jimmy Menger and Lee Gulledge. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 1, 2007 from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
