AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. James O. Higgins, retired E-7, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2007 at 4 p.m. at B.A. Williams Memorial Chapel. Mr. Higgins, a native of Lexinton, Ky., retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service as Sergeant First Class. Survivors are his wife, Lana Higgins; daughter, Deidres ('Dee Dee') Higgins, Augusta; stepson, Jason Jeffrey, Augusta; stepdaughter, Carmelita (Charles) Bibby, Ft. Belvoir, Va.; one sister, Omalee (George) Brown, Lexington, Ky.; niece, Stephanie (Reginald) Garrett, Chicago, Ill.; nephew, James Kendall (Elaine) Higgins, Nashville, Tenn.; great niece, Shamika Higgins, Nashville; great nephew, Maurice Higgins, Nashville; godson, Rodney Wright, Augusta and other relatives.
