Zumba the body
There will be a Zumba fitness class from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Aiken Recreation Center, 917 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville. The class is a cardio-based workout designed to tone the entire body.

Teenspace will meet from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursdays in January at Roy Warner Memorial Park, South Carolina Highway 39, Wagener.
Ages 10 and older meet at the park for homework, refreshments, games, manicures, socialization and fun. Supervision is provided.

Youth basketball will be played through March 1 at Midland Valley First Church of the Nazarene in Clearwater. There will be leagues for ages 4 through pupils in fourth grade. Games will be played Saturday mornings.

The Aiken County Language Arts Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the University of South Carolina Aiken, 471 University Parkway. The festival is open to middle and high school pupils in public, private or home schools in Aiken and Edgefield counties. Pupils will compete in grades 6, 7, 8, 9-10 and 11-12 division.
Events include oral interpretation of published poetry, original student poetry, dramatic monologue, storytelling and public speaking.
Pupils may participate in two events. Participation is free.
