Falcons to be blacked out in Atlanta

For the second time in their past five home games, the Atlanta Falcons failed to sell enough tickets to lift a local television blackout within 75 miles of the Georgia Dome.

The Falcons (3-12), who play host to Seattle (10-5) on Sunday, had too many available seats at Thursday's 1 p.m. NFL deadline.

Atlanta beat San Francisco in Week 9 with no local viewership. That game ended a streak of 56 consecutive sellouts under owner Arthur Blank .

COLTS: Eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Marvin Harrison returned to practice after missing 10 games.

Harrison took part in a full practice Thursday and might be available for limited work against Tennessee on Sunday. He hasn't played since Oct. 22 because of a left knee injury.

RAIDERS: Defensive tackle Warren Sapp was fined $75,000 on Thursday by the NFL for his confrontation with game officials that led to his ejection last week.

Sapp avoided a suspension, however.

The league said Sapp was punished for "physical and verbal actions toward game officials that drew an unprecedented three unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and ejection from last Sunday's game."

PACKERS: Nick Barnett might not file a formal grievance against NFL official Jim Quirk after all.

The Green Bay linebacker's agent says he is more interested in having the league admit that Quirk's rough treatment of Barnett was wrong.

Quirk grabbed Barnett by the neck and threw him to the ground while breaking up a scuffle during the Packers' loss at Chicago on Sunday.

Giants: The NFL has officially deducted 2 yards from Brandon Jacobs ' rushing total in New York's victory at Buffalo last Sunday.

Jacobs goes from 145 yards rushing to 143, and the team total drops from 291 to 289, in the Giants' 38-21 win.

The 2 yards initially had been credited as fumble yardage. Because of the change, the Giants' rushing total no longer is the most in the league since 1959.
