Comments from our readers:

THE EVANS CHRISTMAS PARADE was just wonderful, but could they please start having it on Saturday? It is so hard to get to church and get there and get a place before it starts. Saturday would be SO much easier!

I'D LIKE TO COMPLAIN about the flags on top of the Bell Auditorium. It is a disgrace to the city of Augusta to fly a flag that looks like it does. I'm sure that someone could replace the flag. If not, then I would like to be the one to submit one to you for the Bell Auditorium.

I JUST HAVE A RANT for the lovely Georgia fans complaining about their Sugar Bowl bid. At least they are in a bowl! As far as deserving to be played in the National Championship, you have to earn that spot! I think they are right where they deserve.

A RANT ABOUT presidential candidates who are senators. They are running all around the country and they are not doing their jobs in Congress.

I'M NEW TO TOWN AND have loved everyone that I have dealt with here in Augusta. People have bent over backwards to be helpful. However, in my calling in the last five minutes to the utility division I have dealt with four people and I have never talked with such rude individuals in my life.

GOOD LUCK WITH your new terminal, Augusta. Too bad you can't provide decent service to maintain your customers. Perhaps the money would have been better invested in a bus shuttle service from Atlanta.

YOU RECENTLY ran an item saying The Metro Spirit has a new publisher. Does this mean they might stop whining about and/or slamming The Augusta Chronicle in every issue? If so, I may start reading it again.

WAKE UP, SOUTH AUGUSTA. Let's demand more for our area instead of letting it run down to slums.

RANT TO DOCTORS who think one minute of their time "wasted" transmitting your Rx to your pharmacy by Internet connection, fax or telephone is worth far to much to sacrifice for you as a paying customer.

TURNING THIS COUNTRY into a North American Union, like the European Union, is tantamount to treason.

HUGE RANTS TO WHOEVER engineered the new traffic circle on Riverwood Parkway in the Greenbrier complex. The circle's diameter is way too small! I've spent a lot of time in England where the traffic circles are a great help in keeping the traffic flowing. I predict that there will be many accidents there.

A RANT ABOUT CATS being allowed to run loose. They need to be restricted as well as dogs.

A HUGE RAVE for Dr. Scott Chappell. He has taken excellent care of my son. I love him to death and have put my faith in him and will continue to do so.

IT'S OBVIOUS TO US why people are moving out of Richmond County. Some of us are suffering from headaches which could be from those smokestacks that spew out toxins after 10 every night. We can see it as we drive around.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE Columbia County Sheriff's Department for help with my child. They were kind, thoughtful and very professional. They responded immediately, and took the time to be considerate at a very stressful moment.
