In addition to wanting to meet their needs, she also would like to meet their wants, such as a computer, but she can't afford it, she said.
"It makes me sad because they can't get what they need and want," she wrote. "I just trust in God that we make it through."
The Augusta Chronicle's Empty Stocking Fund has helped area families for 77 years. Last year, the charity raised a record-breaking $122,000, which went to more than 1,250 families.
The deadline to submit an application for help is Dec. 7.

Box 1928, Augusta, GA 30903-1928, or delivered to the security station in the lobby of the News Building at 725 Broad St. Donations also can be made online at www.augustachronicle.com/emptystocking. The Empty Stocking Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donations are tax deductible.
