Separate church and state? Go all-out

I am outraged! If we truly teach separation of church and state in our schools, we must lead by example.

We need to explain why "Laus Deo" ("Praise be to God") is inscribed at the top of the Washington Monument. There are biblical verses on various parts of the monument. To make matters worse, in the cornerstone was placed a Bible! When looking out from the top you see the White House to the north, the Jefferson Memorial to the south, the Capitol to the east and the Lincoln Memorial, forming a cross!

My head's exploding with this information. We must tear down these icons of godly messages, for we cannot truly be a socialist state with such abhorrent things in our nation's Capitol, Then we must burn the Constitution, melt down all coins with "In God We Trust" engraved on them, then close every church that speaks of social issues to cleanse us all into a true separation of church and state. That should do it.

Ooh! I forgot that we have souls, so maybe we should add exorcisms, which could be paid for by the Democratic Party.
