Offer us some real water-saving tips

The water-saving tips in the Oct. 25 Chronicle were not logical.

If you go to a half-gallon toilet flush, you'd have to flush the toilet three times to clear everything out.

Reduce the size of ice cubes in your ice maker? You'd just be using three times as many ice cubes.

Something else that blows my mind is how turning down the humidifier in your fridge is going to save water.

Many people who have pools take fewer showers for the simple reason that chlorine in the pool is 10 times better than soap to disinfect your body. People only need to wear shower caps while swimming if concerned with their hair.

And taking a seven-minute shower? Why not shower one day and sponge-bathe the next day, since very few people use physical exertion to break a sweat anymore, not to mention being under air-conditioning 24/7?

Those shower heads that are called water-savers are a joke. I realize we now have people that think these things are what a shower is all about. My shower head will knock you down. If you can't shower in five minutes with my shower head, you are wasting water.

Give me some realistic water-saving tips.
