AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Laurie Franklin Sikes, Jr. entered into rest Saturday, November 3, 2007 in Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft. Gordon, Ga., the husband of Mrs. Patricia Ennis Sikes. Other family members are one daughter, Erica Cheek and her husband Roger, Evans, Ga.; mother, Janice Sikes, Augusta, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Jessica Sikes, Evans, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Roman, and Rylie Cheek, and Kayleigh Sikes. Mr. Sikes was preceded in death by his son, Eric Mark Sikes; and his father, Larrie Sikes, Sr. Mr. Sikes was born in Millen, Ga., was a retired Truck Driver Instructor with CDT, and a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Marty Sullivan, Jr., Tony Glover, Jim Fishburn, Frank Godbee, Jr., Johnny Coleman, Roger Cheek, II, Roman Cheek, and Alton Creech. The family requests that contributions please be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Va. 22312. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home, 124 Davis Rd., Martinez, Ga. Florist: Thursday, 8 a.m.
