WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Sara Natalie Miller, 81, died Friday, November 2nd, 2007 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Miller was born in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of Nathan and Dorothy Levy Jolles. She was raised in Augusta, Ga., where she was a graduate of Tubman High School and Augusta Junior College. She also attended the University of Georgia. Mrs. Miller moved to Winston-Salem in 1947 following her marriage to Robert Miller. She was a co-owner and operator of Miller's Variety Store for 60 years with her late husband, Robert Miller, who passed away in 2006. Mrs. Miller was a loving and generous mother, wife, grandmother, and friend to all. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Howard Jolles. She is survived by four sons, Dr. Frank Miller and wife Bertha of Chattanooga, Tenn., Henry Miller and wife Jan of New Orleans, La., Nathan and Richard Miller of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a brother, I.S. "Buddy" Jolles and wife Myra of Augusta, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Bernice Jolles Schlifka and husband Henry of Augusta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Joseph Miller, Stephan Miller, Shana Miller, Sonya Chapman, Elisa Miller, Rachael Miller Stavchansky, and Melissa Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Keenan and Casandra. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 5th, 2007 at Salem Funeral Home. Burial followed at Mt. Sinai Cemetery. A visitation was held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
