JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Completed life's journey Sunday, November 4, 2007, Mr. Dudley Wayne "Perk" Gibson, of Jacksonville, Florida, loving husband of 42 years to Mary Ann McCorkle Gibson and son of the late Frank P. Gibson and the late Jeanette Benson Blake. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph (Marvis) Gibson of Palm Coast, Florida and Jeremy (Barbara) Gibson of Jacksonville, Florida; a daughter, Christy (Gabe) Guillen of St. Augustine, Florida; six brothers, Jimmie (Edna) Gibson, Otis (Carol) Gibson, Charles (Darlene) Gibson, Frankie (Helen) Gibson, David Gibson, and Gene Watkins; six sisters, Gloria (Ronald) Owens, Donna (David) Shirling, Carol (Tommy) Crabb, Sue Russell, Debra Bennett, and Marie Gardner; five grandchildren, Brandy Gibson, Josie Gibson, Joris Gibson, Phelix Guillen, and Alyssa Guillen; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was born in Bath, S.C. but has been a resident of Jacksonville, Florida for over 15 years. He was retired from Winn-Dixie in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a Coach for Richmond County Recreation Little League T-Ball. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served aboard the Amphion. He was a Cruelty Investigator for Richmond County Animal Control for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be truly missed by his family and many friends. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. The interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Langley, S.C. The pallbearers will be Danny Gibson, Johnnie Gibson, Charles Gibson, DeWayne Minor, Dewey Minor, and Bobby Williams. The family is receiving friends at his brother's, Otis (Carol) Gibson, residence in Gloverville and received Tuesday, November 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S.C. 29829.
