AIKEN, S.C. - Mrs. Alice Hawkins, 73, of Reid St., entered into rest November 2, 2007. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence D. Hill officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church where she served on the praise ministry, senior choir ministry, single's ministry, and chief of the ushers ministry. Survivors include four daughters, Rachael (Hazel) Hammond, Christine Barnwell, Rubena Hawkins and Jeanette Hayes; four sons, Willie L. Hawkins, Jr., Bernard Hawkins, Clinton Hawkins and Kenneth Hawkins; one sister, Iola Abney; one brother, Rev. Herman (Patricia) Jackson; 21 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the residence or after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home. G.L.
