North Augusta authorities investigated a shooting Monday night at an apartment complex on West Hugh Street.

Police were called to the North Augusta Gardens apartments at 9:29 p.m., after employees at a Pizza Hut on Georgia Avenue said a man was laying in front of their business, said Lt. Robert Bell of the North Augusta Department of Public Safety.

A juvenile suffered a gun shot wound to the left knee, but the injury did not appear to be life-threatening, he said.

The victim wouldn't talk to authorities before being transported to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Lt. Bell said.

"We don't really know what happened," he said.

Police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
