GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mrs. Sara Vivian Melcher, 79, entered into rest Saturday, November 3, 2007 at her residence, beloved wife of the late Mr. Obdiah Maddox Melcher. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Bellevue Baptist Church with the Steve A. Melcher officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Melcher will lie in state one hour prior to service. Mrs. Melcher was a native of Augusta and attended the Bellevue Baptist Church. Survivors are four sons, Steve A. (Barbara) Melcher of Harlem, Hebert E. Melcher, Martinez, Calvin S. (Linda) Melcher, Harlem, and Sid J. (Kathy) Melcher of Aiken, S.C., and preceded in death, son, Leonard Reese; one daughter, Lucille M. (Rodney) Ready of Aiken, S.C.; one brother, Joseph C. Maddox, Dearing, Ga. Additional survivors include 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jason Norris, Reggie Jackson, Jason Melcher, Jeremy Melcher, Lance Melcher, Mike Maddox, Kodie Higdon, Allen Melcher. Friends may call at the residence.
