Boshears got help on the ground

On behalf of the entire Boshears Skyfest committee, I would like to thank the citizens of this area for their overwhelming support. Record crowds came through our gates on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20 and 21, including over 8,000 children.

The payment we receive as volunteers is in seeing the excitement in their faces and the thrill in their voices during the show. This year, that experience was particularly enjoyable.

Partnering with Boys and Girls Clubs, Civil Air Patrol and the Boy Scouts, we were able to provide activities for the benefit of many young people. And, with the generous support of local businesses and individuals, we were able to award three scholarships to local high school students to begin flying lessons.

Speaking for the over 300 volunteers who dedicate themselves to this event each year, I would like to thank our sponsors and patrons. Boshears Skyfest is one example of the great things this community is capable of when we all work together.

Brad Kyzer, Augusta
