AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Medical College of Georgia, Mr. Newton Goudy, of Spruce Street, husband of the late Mrs. Theresa Goudy. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1485 Wrightsboro Road, with Reverend Ronald Strong officiating. Interment will be in Walker Memorial Park. The family will receive friends this evening from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Goudy was a native of Augusta and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where he served faithfully on the Usher Board. He served in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of World War II. Mr. Goudy retired from Goldberg Metal Company. Survivors are two sons, Jerome N. Goudy and John O. (Paula) Goudy; one daughter, Barbara Goudy; two granddaughters, Sonia D'Antignac and Portrice Rucker; one sister-in-law, Louise Williams, all of Augusta, Ga.; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
