NUTRITION
Don't let yourself get hungry! It takes fewer calories to prevent hunger than it does to deal with it if you let it occur. Eat three meals a day, with snacks in between if necessary, to keep hunger at bay.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Physical exercise is good for our general health and our brains. There is scientific evidence supporting the statement that a healthy human being is a human doing. So get moving!
TOBACCO
Stop-smoking programs are designed to help smokers recognize and cope with problems that come up during quitting and to provide support and encouragement in staying off the habit. Studies have shown that the best programs will include individual or group counseling. In general, the more intense the program, the greater the likelihood of success. When considering a program, look for one that has the following:
- At least 20 to 30 minutes per session
- At least four to seven sessions
- At least two weeks
