APPLING, Ga. - Tommy Shaw, age 84, beloved husband of 61 years of Mrs. Rose Nell Shaw, entered into rest at the V.A. Hospital in Augusta on September 22, 2007. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in the Platt's Belair Rd. Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Joe Hester officiating. Additional survivors include one daughter, Linda Blanchard of Evans; one brother, Eddie Michael Shaw of Lawrenceville, Ga.; one sister, Virginia Furmanski of Germantown, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Marci Lynn Boyd and her husband Dean of Appling; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Erica Scott, Clayton Boyd, Lindi Rose Boyd, and Lani Elizabeth Boyd. Mr. Shaw was predeceased by one grandson, Leonard Eric Tankersley. Mr. Shaw served in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of WW II. He graduated from the Atlanta Law School in 1948. Tommy and his wife Rose Nell owned and operated Tommy Shaw's Marina at Clarks Hill Lake for thirty two years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man of the highest character and integrity and was a blessing to all who knew him.
