KETCHIKAN, Alaska - Mrs. Linda Sims Houts, age 54, of Ketchikan, Alaska passed away on September 16, 2007. She was born in Augusta, Ga. on July 25, 1953 and lived in the area until 1976. In 1976, she graduated Augusta College (now Augusta State University) and was married on June 7, 1976. She lived in Ketchikan, Alaska from 1976-2007. She was an Accountant and was also the co-founder of Ketchikan Charter School. She enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, and social entertaining with friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Sims. She is survived by her husband, Mike Houts of Ketchikan; sons, Nathan Houts and Trevor Houts; daughter, Amanda Houts, all of Ketchikan, Alaska; her mother, Reba Sims, of Augusta, Ga.; and her brother, Neil Sims, Spartanburg, S.C. A memorial celebration was held on September 21, 2007 at 6 p.m. at Cape Fox Lodge in Ketchikan, Alaska. Her burial followed in Bayview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ketchikan Charter School in memory of Linda Houts. Funeral arrangements were handled by Ketchikan Mortuary in Ketchikan, Alaska.
