Many heroes risk their lives for ours

I would like to thank all the police department personnel, as well as our firefighters, who put their lives on the line for us daily. The downfall of their dedication is the sorry wages they make - they deserve better pay. I would like to include the emergency medical technicians as well.

I would like to thank our soldiers as well and all veterans who are not thanked enough for fighting to keep our country free.

My dad was a Korean War vet who served his country for 26 years, and my oldest brother served in Vietnam. To all of you, from my family and me, I say a great big "thank you."

A lot of people take freedom for granted and abuse it in many ways. I say this because of all the crime, mostly from young thugs, who have no idea or concept what the word "freedom" means until they are incarcerated. Where are these young thugs' parents? Do they care where their children are and what they are doing?

The day, the hour, the minute and the second we took God out of the government, schools and homes started to degenerate.

I say a prayer for every ambulance I see with its lights on. I ask God to protect the driver, the EMTs, the patient and the patient's family, as well as guide the doctor's hands.

God bless America, every day.

Tina Cloer, Augusta

I fully agree with this

I fully agree with this lady's comment about our firemen and police not being paid what they should be for risking their lives for us daily.

Yes, they are very much

Yes, they are very much under-paid. I also support putting God in government, but I don't know how we can fit all of them in.
