'guyaholic'

AUTHOR: Carolyn Mackler

THE PLOT: This is the follow-up book to Vegan Virgin Valentine, where you are first introduced to Valentine (V for short). Guyaholic is the story about V and her endless hookups. During V's senior year, she is at a hockey game when a puck changes her world. Will the party girl change from "single and loving it" to steady girlfriend?

MY THOUGHTS: A good read, with the exception of the endless hookups that no one seemed to mind. Now, we all know that girls will get mad if you date their ex and you are friends. But V's friends didn't seem to mind, and that's a little ridiculous. All in all, funny mixed with kindness.

'unaccompanied minors'

DVD RELEASED: Aug. 7

MPAA RATING: PG

MY THOUGHTS: This is a comedy for the entire family. Six kids from broken families are stuck on Christmas Eve at a snowed-in airport. They bond to form a family, and throughout the film they learn to love one another and make sure all the other kids have their best Christmas ever.

This is a fast-paced film filled with slapstick. Although it can be unrealistic, (like when a boy in the wilderness just "stumbles" on a Christmas tree warehouse), I would recommend this movie to anyone who needs a good laugh.
