Today: Pinetucky Gun Club will hold an ICORE (International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts) shoot at 9 a.m. Cost is $4 for club members and $12 for nonmembers. Call (706) 592-4230 for more details.

Tuesday: The Sierra Club's Savannah River group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian-Universalist Church, Walton Way Extension. Todd Daniel, a Sierra Club expert on population issues, will present a program followed by discussion. The public is welcome. For details, call (706) 650-8314.

Oct. 5-7: Graves Mountain, a former mine known for its rare - and sometimes very valuable - minerals, will be open to the public for the semiannual Rock, Swap & Dig event in which visitors can chisel away at rock outcrops in search of treasure.
