AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Angeline E. Gahnz, beloved wife of the late Elmer F. Gahnz entered into rest Friday, September 14, 2007, at Trinity Hospital. Born in Cochrane, Wisconsin in 1907, "Angie" has made her home in Augusta since 1952. She graduated from Minnesota State University and attended Augusta State University and the University of Georgia. She was employed by the Richmond County Board of Education as a teacher for 8 years. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women's Mission League, the Ladies Auxiliary at Fort Gordon Officers, a life member of the St. Joseph's Hospital Volunteers and a member of the former Augusta Dance Association. Survivors include her daughter, Mary G. Usher of Augusta; granddaughter, Elizabeth Usher (Brian) of France; two great granddaughters, Rylee and Taegan; nieces, Jane Thomas of St. Louis, Missouri and Lynn Grange of Colorado Springs, Colorado and nephews, Michael Botnan of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Ted Botnan of Rock Springs, Wyoming. A prayer service will be at Thomas Poteet & Son, Monday, September 17, 2007 at 10:30 AM and the family will receive friends until 11:30 AM. A graveside interment service will be at 12:00 Noon in Westover Memorial Park with Pastor Carl A. Voges officiating. Pallbearers are David Hudson, Brooks Hudson Dale Groenenboom, Joe Dromsky, Ray Sumner, Gary Vahrenwald and Lloyd Muehlfeld. If so desired, memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 402 Aumond Road, Augusta, Georgia 30909.
