AUGUSTA, Ga. - In Our Hearts Forever....Mr. Burrie Goodwin, 78 years of age and a resident of 3630 Crawfordville Dr., Augusta, Ga., peacefully listened to Our Heavenly Fathers whisper on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the University Hospital, Augusta, Ga. and decided to go with him. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at the Old Macedonia Baptist Church, North Augusta, S.C., with Rev. Joseph Thomas, Jr., Officiating. The interment will immediately follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Bath, S.C. Mr. Goodwin, a native of Edgefield County, S.C., was a member of the Old Macedonia Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War and was also a member of several community organizations. He truly enjoyed and took extreme pride in his 42 years of service at McKesson Pharmaceutical Co., Columbia, S.C., as a Shipping Clerk. He leaves to cherish a host of very saddened and compassionate survivors: his loving and dedicated wife, Virginia M. Goodwin, of the home; two daughters, Anita J. Goodwin and Cassandra Goodwin- Woodland and her husband, Larry Ray, all of Augusta, Ga.; two grandsons, Milton Wilson, Jr., and his wife, Kitani, Jacksonville, N.C. and Godwin K. Woodland, Grovetown, Ga.; two great-grandsons, Milton M. Wilson and Miguel M. Wilson both of Jacksonville, N.C.; two god-children, Jeffery Thomas and Marian Reddick; one sister, Carrie McKie, and her husband, Levi, both of Aiken, S.C.; two sisters-in-law, Susie M. Lloyd, Aiken, S.C. and Thelma Goodwin, Trenton, S.C.; one brother-in-law, Thomas McKie, and his wife, Lula Mae, both of Aiken, S.C.; and a host of very loyal and grieving extended relatives and friends that will always remember the Life, Legacy and Contributions of this much appreciated gentleman. The Family will be receiving friends at the residence. The viewing will be held on today from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
