EVANS, Ga. - Mr. James N. Cash, 66, the beloved and precious husband of Mrs. Charlotte C. Cash, entered into eternal rest with Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 2, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Platt's Funeral Home on North Belair Road, Evans, Georgia with his son, Nathan A. Cash, Rev. Mark Maddox, and Rev. Paul B. Mays officiating. Eulogies will be given by Wayne Thomas and Jo Long. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Cash was a graduate of the University Hospital School of X-Ray Technology and was a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists being certified in Computed Tomography and Radiography. He retired from the Medical College of Georgia as a Lead Radiographer in CT after 30 years of service and the downtown Veterans Administration Medical Center in the Imaging Section of the Radiology Department. He enjoyed his work. He served his county as an Army Reservist with the former 382nd Field Hospital Medical Unit for seven years. He was a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, Augusta Genealogical Society, and the Harvest Point Church. He liked the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and gardening as well as photography, traveling, and working on genealogy with Charlotte. Mr. Cash will be sorely missed by his family. His legacy of love and joy, sacrifice and dedication to his family, church, and his work, and the kindness, gentleness, and concern that he had for his patients, will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; his wonderful son, Nathan A. Cash and his wife, Sherah, of Hamilton, Ga.; two precious granddaughters, Abigail Alexis Cash and Bethany Brooke Cash, Hamilton, Ga.; father-in-law and mother-in- law, James and Verna Clark, Augusta, Ga.; a brother-in-law and his wife, Marion E. and Jenny Clark, Hephzibah, Ga.; one brother, Joseph F. Cash, Martinez, Ga.; and a sister, Martha C. Harrison of Mexico, Missouri. James was preceded in death by his father and mother, Nelson and Ila Mae Marshall Cash. Pallbearers will be Dr. Alton Walker, W. Hunter Baggs, Jr., Harold Crawford, Orrin Aske, Harold Redd, Jr., Rick Chavous, Johnnie Stubblefield, Jr., Willie R. Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be David Grimaud, JoyceGrimaud, Joe Hamilton, Jeanette Sills, Michael Long, Haskell Whittington, Jr., Dr. Janet Munroe, Yvonne Erb, Wayne Hadley, and Tammi Pavey. Paraphrasing a section of the poem "To Those I Love" by Isla Paschal Richardson, his wife would like to say the following: "Your leaving me É is so hard to faceÉ. Although we cannot see BeyondÉ. 'Tis this that I know: I loved you soÉ 'twas heaven here with you!" The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to all the medical personnel who assisted in caring for their loved one during his illness.
