JOHNSTON, S.C. - Services for Mrs. Elizabeth Blackman Franklin, widow of J. Broadus Franklin, will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Bland Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 1701, Hwy 191, Johnston, S.C. 29832. Mrs. Franklin, a native of Anderson County, died Monday, September 3, 2007. She was a daughter of the late John Robert and Loucinda Keasler Blackman of Sandy Springs, S.C. Mrs. Franklin was a graduate of Anderson College and was a former teacher in the public schools of South Carolina. She had been active in Providence Baptist Church and for many years taught Adult Sunday School. Mrs. Franklin is survived by a sister-in-law, Elise Franklin Herlong Horne of Ridge Spring; nieces, Virginia A. Farr and husband Mike of Inman, Dr. Sara Elizabeth Allgood, Charlotte, N.C., Loucinda Ruth Allgood, Inman, Barbara Yonce, Greenville, Karen Blackman, Clemson, Sylvia Herlong Kelly-Stone and husband Donald of Ridge Spring; nephews, Sam E. Allgood, Inman, Sammie Blackman, Clemson, and Dr. H. Franklin Herlong, Baltimore, Md. She was predeceased by two sisters, Helen B. Yonce, Ninety-Six and Sara B. Allgood, Inman; and two brothers, John Marshall Blackman, Abbeville and Sam M. Blackman, Calhoun Falls.
