Why do sexual predators get

Why do sexual predators get such short terms? Their illness is chronic, why can't their sentence be the same.

because the people in charge

because the people in charge of sentencing guidelines won't take the time to change the guidelines. What's wrong with this picture: I robbed you with a stick ("armed" robbery), I got 20 years. The man down the street molests several children overa period of 5 years, he gets 10 years???
